About the Exhibition

The bibliographical exhibition on Vincent Scully is formed by both the ETSAV Library's own materials (fourteen books written by him and several of his contributions to books and journals) as well as selections from other public and private institutions (the Oriol Bohigas ETSAB Library, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona Library, the Universitat de Barcelona Library, the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona Library, the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya Library). In addition, the exhibition contains a bibliographic dossier with a significant compilation of Scully’s work and writings recollected directly from the libraries of Yale University and Harvard University; it features two interviews conducted for the purpose of this occasion with Scully’s former students: the architectural historian, Neil Levine and the architect, Robert A. M. Stern. Levine’s book Modern Architecture and Other Essays (2003) has been essential to the cultivation of this exhibition and personal photographs generously shared by Stern will be featured alongside the presentation. The exhibition will be accompanied by a lecture from the organizing professors to the students of Composition IV on Friday the 17th of May at 12:15h. The presentation is open to the public.
