On 3 June, the Governing Council approved the UPC 2028 Open Science Roadmap. This strategic instrument follows on from the UPC 2025 Roadmap, guiding the actions of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) towards a more open, collaborative research model with greater social impact.
The new actions fall within the framework of the UPC 2025-28 Action Plan and are aligned with national and international open science strategies, responding to an analysis of the current context and the community's future needs.
This new roadmap will be formally presented during the 7th UPC Open Science Conference (on 7 July 2026).
If you're working on an assignment, your thesis or a research project and need a journal article or book chapter that you can't find at UPC, we have the solution! The UPC libraries' document supply service can find it for you anywhere in the world.

The CORA.RDR Research Data Repository has achieved international CoreTrustSeal certification (valid until 20 May 2029). This seal assesses digital repositories against rigorous criteria and certifies their transparency, quality, maturity and reliability, as well as the robustness of their processes and documentation.
With this recognition, which guarantees the preservation, accessibility and reuse of data, the RDR is established as a benchmark infrastructure within the Catalan research system, fully aligned with the Catalan Open Science Strategy.
The new call for the NFF programme, run by UPC with the support of Fractus and the Fractus-UPC Deep Tech Hub, is open until 15 July.
The programme is designed to speed up development and facilitate access to funding for start-ups and spin-offs created by the UPC community (students, doctoral candidates, recent graduates or academic staff), connecting their technological vision with the market.
From 22 June, UPC libraries will move to summer opening hours before closing for the holidays, from 3 to 21 August.
Libraries will reopen on 24 August, but opening hours may be subject to change until the start of the new academic year.
Check your library's opening hours on the website or via the UPC app.
Throughout the summer, you can continue using online services via eBIB:
