On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the UPC will celebrate the VI Open Science Conference, focused this year on citizen science and the social impact of research, and with the participation of speakers from various institutions.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the José Antonio Torroja Auditorium of the Barcelona School of Civil Engineering.
Attendance at the Conference will be recognized by the Institute of Education Sciences, the Doctoral School and the Professional Development Service of the UPC.
The VI UPC Open Science Conference will include a poster exhibition to showcase UPC citizen science projects. We encourage you to participate by sending us this completed poster template before Wednesday, June 11, to comunicacio.rdi@upc.edu.
We have attached a brief document with instructions for completing the poster, as well as an example poster based on the project "La teva idea és ciència!". The printing of the poster is the responsibility of the organization.
The posters presented will subsequently be exhibited in the UPC libraries and in the public libraries with which the Libraries, Publications and Archives Service collaborates to give visibility to the projects.

You can now consult the presentation of the seminar 'Develop Your Research Portfolio: An IEEE Workshop for Authors in Spain' held on March 31 at the ETSEIB and organized by EBSCO and IEEE.
This workshop, designed to delve deeper into scientific publishing, offers strategies to maximize the impact of your research. Thanks to the open access publishing agreement between IEEE and the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE), researchers from 51 Spanish academic institutions (including the UPC), can publish in IEEE journals at no additional cost, using prepaid APCs.
This workshop also helped to understand the publication process and how to take advantage of this advantage.
