Online webinars during summer
After 36 workshops in the "Your doctoral thesis" pathway, we are closing for the holidays.
You'll be able to enroll in new workshops in October.
During the summer, you can follow the tutorials and webinars by various information providers that you'll find on the Bibliotècnica website.

New Web of Science
Clarivate Analytics has been working on an overhaul of Web of Science.
This is the main news:
- New search and filtering options.
- Extension of the export limit to speed up the transfer of results to the reference manager.
- New query builder, for advanced review searches.
- New results analysis options.
- A new mobile application called My Research Assistant.

Three important developments in the 2021 JCR
The 2021 JCR includes three new features in a new, and more modern and user-friendly platform:
- All the journals in the main Web of Science collection are included.
- The new Journal Citation Indicator (JCI) analyses the citations received in the last three years and allows you to compare journals from different thematic areas.
- The Journal Impact Factor (JIF) for Science and Social Science remains. The JCI indicator presents qualitative indicators for all journals, including those indexed in the Arts & Humanities Citation Index and the Emerging Sources Citation Index.

Think Tank: patent or publish?
The FECYT has published a report on an important issue in managing research results: patenting and/or publishing?
Based on the consultation of experts in the field of research and innovation, the report presents conclusions and recommendations in the face of the dichotomy involved in patenting or publishing.

2020 National Research Prize
Dr. Carme Torres, a research professor at the Institute of Robotics and Industrial Informatics (IRI), was awarded the 2020 National Research Prize.
We recommend reading one of her books during the summer: "The Sentimental Mutation".
You can also borrow literature books and travel guides from UPC libraries.
