The tenth edition of the International Open Access Week is taking place from 22 to 28 October. UPC libraries have prepared many activities and initiatives to disseminate open science and the importance of open access to scientific publications.

Winning Horizon 2020 with Open Science

On Monday 22 October, from 1 p.m. to 2 pm., a webinar on open science and H2020 projects, ‘Winning Horizon 2020 with Open Science’, will be given by Ivo Grigorov (FOSTER and the Technical University of Denmark).

The webinar aims to help researchers include aspects of open science in their proposals for H2020 projects.

MDPI and the Future of Open Access

MDPI and the Future of Open Access

On Tuesday 23 October, from 12 noon to 1.30 p.m., a workshop entitled ‘MDPI and the Future of Open Access’ will be taught by Antonio Peteira from the Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI). Attendees will enjoy an additional discount if they publish articles in their journals.

The workshop will be held in Spanish in the Capella lecture hall at the ETSEIB (South Campus). You must register beforehand.

UPCommons, the institutional repository of the UPC, is ranked 14th in the ranking of institutional repositories in open access worldwide and the first in Spain in terms of presence in Google Scholar.

The data correspond to the 3rd edition (October 2018) of the Transparent Ranking: Institutional Repositories by Google Scholar.

Every day from 22 to 26 October, at 12 noon, you've got a date with via @moocmicro. It’s a micro-MOOC on Twitter with tweets on everything you need to know about open access.

Exhibitions of open access journals at the EPSEB and the FNB

Exhibitions of open access journals at the EPSEB and the FNB

The EPSEB and FNB libraries have prepared exhibitions of journals in which you can publish in open access.

In the FNB’s entrance hall, you will find an exhibition of a selection of nautical journals that you can access using QR codes. 

At the EPSEB, the exhibition is of open access journals on building construction. It highlights the journals in which the School’s teaching and research staff have published.
