What are diamond journals and how to find them?

What are diamond journals and how to find them?

Diamond journals are open access journals that do not charge either the authors or the readers because they are subsidized by scientific societies, universities, etc. Therefore, they have no economic barriers neither to access nor to publish.

This model is attractive to researchers and funding institutions, as it meets the current requirements of transparency and free access to research.

According to Coalition S, there are more than 29,000 diamond magazines worldwide; more than 13,000 are registered in DOAJ: Directory of Open Access Journals which, with the Journals without fees option, is one of the most useful tools for finding this type of publication.
